Facebook Group - Act Now to save Bute Park

"Following the approval of the planning application by the planning officers - i.e the council approving their own plans for Bute Park, the campaign is now focused on petitioning the Welsh National Heritage Lottery Fund who are funding the bridge. Obviously, without funding, the council will not be able to carry out this work, or rather, destruction to the park."

Facebook Group - Bute Park Commuters

"Hundreds of people living and working in Cardiff commute through the beautiful Bute Park every day. However, as the days get shorter so do the opening hours. From autumn to spring the vital pedestrian and cycling commuter routes across the park are shut before 7pm. We want the council to extend opening hours for the major routes until at least 7pm throughout the year."

Museum interested in saving pub

"A 155-year-old pub which is due to be demolished next year could be preserved at an open-air museum.

The Vulcan Hotel in Adamsdown, Cardiff, is due to close next year to make way for a car park.

But the National History Museum at St Fagans near Cardiff is keen to add a pub to its collection of buildings.

A museum spokesperson said it would "gladly consider" preserving the Vulcan at St Fagans and would be taking a "closer look" at the pub.

The Vulcan, which still has some of its original features, is one of Cardiff's oldest pubs and has previously been voted the city's pub of the year. "
