"This is the first online dictionary to translate English to Tibetan. Many wonderful dictionaries currently exist to search for Tibetan words and find their English equivalent (and a good argument could be made as to why this function may be more important), however in order for any sort of true information exchange you must have two way communication.
The focus of this website will be on modern spoken (colloquial) Tibetan. A few key Buddhist words will likely be included (again, a case could be made for a dictionary that takes a term like "correct view" and gives you the Tibetan "yang dag pa'i lta ba", but that is beyond the scope of this dictionary)."
