How a ’70s Welsh language band is inspiring youth theatre

"When Welsh band Edward H Dafis released their album ’Sneb Yn Besco Dam in 1976, it was more than a decade before members of the current Urdd Theatre Youth Company were born. But the teenagers know the tracks like the backs of their hands as they are now performing a musical based on the recording. Premiered in Carmarthen earlier this week, the touring production deals with the tensions facing young people as they choose between life in the country or city – between protecting their heritage and creating a vibrant Wales in the 21st century."
