Why Force Vista When Users Want Windows XP?

"Question: What prompted the Save XP campaign?
Gruman: We noticed a decided lack of enthusiasm for Vista in the year after it shipped, and so we started asking IT folks what their plans were. What we heard was that most had no reason to switch from XP to Vista but knew they’d ultimately be forced to because Microsoft would stop selling XP. That made us ask, “Why?" From that, the idea of petitioning Microsoft came: If users don't really want Vista, why make them change? As a publication that focuses on business IT, we realized we could be a venue for customers to express that desire."
