"CONTROVERSIAL city centre traffic changes have been a resounding success with pedestrian numbers doubling in a year, according to the council.
The authority said its own research proves the new-look High Street and St Mary Street attracted 99% more people on one Saturday in May this year, compared to 12 months ago."
